![]() ![]() The rear window defogger only works when the ignition is switched to ON/RUN, and stays on for approximately 10 minutes after the button is pushed. If your GMC is also equipped with heated side exterior mirrors, they will also be activated with the press of the Rear Window Defogger button. Doing so will heat a grid embedded into your rear window, helping melt frost, ice, or snow that may have accumulated. If your GMC is so equipped, you can also push the Rear Window Defogger button, which has an icon that resembles a rectangle with 3 squiggly lines through it. Set the temperature a little warmer than normal.
